GDIF had completed phase 1 back in July and in November this year, phase two will be released to customers. The project drained £120 million budget in the first seven weeks due to unprecedented levels of demand.

Ed Davey (of the Liberal Democratic party) is expected to announce that they are to “Meet our promises in regard to meeting energy saving targets set out earlier this year.”

Over one million houses are now more energy efficient due to this scheme.

Davey stated that: “Smaller suppliers of energy are experiencing eight times for demand than under the Labour government.”

This scheme also expects consumers to experience lower energy bills due to increased use of efficiency procedures and services being used. Davey encourages the use of smaller energy suppliers because customers will experience a higher quality service and lower energy bills.

Davey is confident that due to the above reasons, smaller suppliers market share will grow just over 30% within the next ten years, something that, the Labour government was unable to do.
